Los Gatos del Barrio

We are the cats of your neighborhood, living without a home.
We were born in the streets or abandoned when someone moved away, left to fend

for ourselves. But we are not alone. There are kind-hearted people who watch over us, feed us, shelter us, and protect us.

You can help us create a better community by joining together. Become a

Guardian de los Gatos or support our nonprofit by donating or purchasing merchandise.

Donations are used towards providing food, shelter, and resources for the guardians who care for us, ensuring

that we and our protectors have what we need to thrive.

Together, we can make a difference! To learn more about our organization read on!

Guardian de los Gatos

Guardian de los Gatos are devoted caretakers who provide food and shelter for homeless. In exchange, the Los Gatos del Barrio organization supports these guardians, many of whom personally bear the costs of caring for feral cats in their neighborhoods. We want you to know that we acknowledge your efforts and appreciate the compassionate service you offer to these cats. We aim to recognize and assist you in your work.

Clipped Left Ear

A cat with a clipped left ear signifies that it has been safely trapped and released. This means the cat has been spayed or neutered before being returned to its community. Feral cats are caught, spayed or neutered, and subsequently released back into their neighborhoods. While we adore them, we also understand the necessity of managing their population growth.

Trap & Release

While trapping can sound intimidating, but when done correctly, it is actually the most humane and effective way for managing free-roaming or community cat populations.
